Tips from the Real World

Dirty Diapers can happen anywhere and anytime so the best advice is to be prepared:

Tip #1 Carry a changing pad
A portable changing pad can be very convenient when unexpected diaper changes occur. Simply lay the changing pad on a flat surface for easy use. When selecting a changing pad, ensure the changing pads are super-soft for baby’s comfort, easy to clean material and machine washable. For protection, look for changing pads with safety straps to secure changing pad and sides to protect baby.

Tip #2 Be prepared to change
Always carry an extra change of clothes with you in your diaper bag or the car, for those unexpected moments when the diaper doesn't do its duty or when your toddler (who is potty training) forgets she is potty trained. A sealable bag for soiled clothing will also be helpful when you need to store those clothes in your bag while you are at the park.

Tip #3 Learn how to change a baby where you are
Most stores and restaurants provide a changing station, but unfortunately they aren’t the most sanitary places to change your baby. Be versatile and learn how to change dirty diapers in the appropriate setting, wherever you are.

Tip #4 Carry baby wipes
Baby wipes are a must-have for efficient diaper care. Baby wipes should be placed in the car, in diaper bags and nursery. Opt for baby wipes that are antibacterial.

Tip #5 Carry a diaper bag
Think of your diaper bag as your Swiss Army Knife of diaper care. The diaper bag should encompass the changing pad, the extra change of clothes, baby wipes, creams, sealable bags, food and more.
